Mountain Man Style Beaded Leather Medicine Bag
Inspired by Mountain Man Rendezvous of the pre-1840 Fur Trade Era, this medicine bag was made with size 11 glass seed beads on brain-tanned, deer hide leather. The necklace is made with glass tile beads, bone hairpipe, brass fluted beads and larger seed beads. Although the colors are modern, the leather pattern and basic style has been around for quite sometime. This unique item is completely hand sewn by Oregon Native artist 'Stands Her Ground'. Approximate dimensions: 25" length necklace, 2.5" x 3" bag, and 2.5" fringe.
These medicine bags are common attire at the Mountain Man Pacific Primitive Rendezvous, however, they can also be worn as a trendy Boho Western necklace.
