Tennessee Bison Screw Tip Powder Horn
This rare Plains power horn is based off an original Woodland Bison horn in The Museum of the Fur Trade in Chadron, Nebraska and identified as being of Tennessee origin. The turned tip is threaded and screws into the body of the horn. Having a turned collar protects the weakened portion of the horn and the white collar is made of bone. The base plug is turned from poplar wood and has a threaded horn finial which screws into the center and allows for the horn to be filled from either end.
The artist, Scott Morrison is a Journeyman Horner from Oregon.
