Virginia Furniture Ring Powder Horn

Virginia Furniture Ring Powder Horn

The style of this powder horn was inspired by some found in Virginia in the late 18th century. The tip is turned horn and applied to the horn body. The base is turned maple wood with an acorn style finial which screws into the base, allowing the horn to be easily filled. A turned horn base band and mid body band are pinned with wood shoe pegs, as per original horns.  The brass furniture ring, on the base, allows for a strap to be attached.

The artist, Scott Morrison is a Journeyman Horner from Oregon.
